Gilou Brillant's engravings belong to the realm of the eye: her energy breeds life. She lived the sixties with passion. She vibrated to Poliakoff or Dmitrienko. We find her today, intense, a disencumbered image, with few elements, few colours, a pink, a black, but an unflagging renewal which makes her strength and disturbs us. Feelings that are both subtle and deep: dared adventure.
The carborundum printing technique is eminently suitable for producing monument graphics with a unique character, it seems almost painted. It is a combination of high, deep and flat pressure.
These vintage original prints show signs of handling, but are general speaking in a good condition.
